Hello, this is yet another corner of the web - if you find something interesting, let me know. I suppose I should figure out what to do with this space. Did I mention that I'm reading The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil? It is an interesting view on how things might change in the near future. We have three branches of technology that are leaping forward: computing power, biotech/genetics, and nanotech. So what will you do when your computer becomes smarter than you are, *and* is an embedded part of your reality? Work contract statusThe Board of Supervisors voted to end our contract. The last day of the contract will be December 31, 2007. The CAO - who was the primary proponent of insourcing - has been let go (kind of). The County is working on new job... more
